Today…Speak Your Mind!

Today...Speak Your Mind!

It is time to be honest with yourself and speak-up! We hold SO much inside of ourselves and then wonder why we are full of stress and ill health.

The very act of “letting it out” releases that harmful, and sometimes fatal, stress.

Get Clarity… Get Moving… Get Results!

New review for my book, “Get Off My Bus

New review for my book, “Get Off My Bus: How to Get Clarity, Get in the Driver’s Seat, and Get Moving in Your Life!” posted on BarnesandNoble.com”
“A MUST-READ for anyone who is “stuck” in his or her life!
What really stuck with me after reading Robin Sacks’ book, Get Off My Bus, is a phrase she uses over and over throughout the entire book, “get clarity, get moving, get results.” This book created for me a mindset of simplicity and clarity. I realized that most of my time (and I am sure the time of others) is spent on minutia or drama. When I started to use this process and the tools and thinking that Sacks suggests, I was amazed at how quickly I found more time, more energy, and got more results…simply by “getting out of my own way” (another of Sacks’ mantras)! To boot, I also quickly became impatient with the minutia and drama of others and learned to let go of it quickly and move on. Thank you for a new mindset that consistently moves me forward! I had it in me all the time and simply did not know it! You opened my eyes wide!”

“Get Off My Bus” Tip #20

Filed under: Uncategorized — Robin Sacks...Confidence Coach, Motivational Speaker, Author @ 7:07 am

Tip #20…DO THIS TODAY:

Find your “authentic.”

Too many people have an identity that they have created. It is not truly who they are. It has more to do with what they do. Of course, the problem with creating an identity is when a paycheck goes away or when a car goes away or when something goes away associated with that label, you’ve not only lost a material item but also your identity. A lot of people in our society are in a very vulnerable situation because of that.

Let’s be honest with ourselves…we are an impulsive, entitled group of people. We want things, we want things now, and we will not hesitate to promise away years of income we have not even made yet to get it. Examples come in the form of cars that lose half their value the second you drive them off the lot, mortgages that stretch us out of our comfort zones, the latest technology gadgets (whether they enrich our lives or not), 412 channels on our cable systems, and $4 cups of coffee just to name a few.

If you are married to the materialism of life, you will end up in a nasty divorce at some point. Your false identity will never sustain you. You are setting yourself up for failure if you are not being true to yourself. When you find your “authentic,” the wealth that follows is fantastic! You are doing it all backwards.

So…who are you?

Until tomorrow…

Complainer! Yeah, You!

When did you start complaining? We all did at some point. One day you just realize that out of the 10 things that happened that day, you are choosing to focus on the one challenging thing instead of the 9 positive things. We live in a society that thrives on complaining. Granted, dissent is necessary for anything to be accomplished. After all, isn’t that exactly why we need to ask more questions? But when we stop asking questions because we do not like the answer, we convince ourselves that it is just so much easier to complain than to find a solution. It is then that we lose even more of that idea of “possibilities.”

Poet Maya Angelou once said, “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude. Don’t complain.” The only thing over which we really have control is ourselves. Yet, we have convinced ourselves that we are “out of control” because of other people, things, and events. It is then that we lose even more of the idea of “imagination.” We ask “what if?” all the time. But we never answer the question! We choose to ask it in negative contexts. “What if I fail?” “What if it doesn’t work?” “What if other people think I’m crazy?” The running theme here is we choose to do all of these things.

When did you start running on auto-pilot? We all did at some point. When did things start “changing” but not progressing? When did you convince yourself that you are right and everyone else is an idiot? When did you start altering yourself so that you could look like, sound like, or fit in with a certain group? When did you lose YOU? We all did at some point.

You cannot move forward until you switch off of “auto-pilot!” Let’s pull out that super hero cape and imagine some possibilities! Misery is a choice…and a poor one at that.

Get real. Get moving. Get results.
