Your subconscious mind believes everything you tell it, whether it is the truth or a lie.  What are you training your subconscious mind to believe?  Think about your internal chatter, that self-talk we all do.  Pay attention today and be aware of what you keep saying to yourself, over and over and over again.  It might be as simple as, “oh , that was stupid” or “I can never do this right.”  If you pay attention to that chatter, which you most likely do not even know you are creating, you will be surprised at how many negative messages YOU are constantly sending yourself.  Become aware and catch yourself in those moments.  Begin to replace those self-defeating words with empowering ones.  They can be as simple as, “oops!” or “I am going to take a breath and get this done right now.”  As most things are, this is quite simple.  The missing link is YOU simply going from KNOWING to DOING.  When you are AWARE, you are in a powerful place to change.  Be inspired!

Today…Employ Accountability

Filed under: Look in the Mirror,Making Decisions,Motivation,Take Control — Robin Sacks...Confidence Coach, Motivational Speaker, Author @ 1:42 pm

Want a powerful thought, which will quickly and easily put your life into INSTANT perspective and create INSTANT change?  I honestly do not know to whom to attribute this, although I have heard it before.  It is powerful, so I’d like to share it with you.

What if a camera crew followed you around for the next 100 days while you went after your goals?  Most likely, 3 things would happen:

1.  you would START doing the things you say you need to do

2.  you would STOP doing the things you know you shouldn’t be doing

3.  you would MAKE monumental performance gains and change your life

We are simply talking about accountability.  Accountability pretty much makes just about anything possible.  It helps to ensure that, what you say you want to get done, gets done!

If you look through your life and find all of those unfinished projects and never reached goals and broken promises, I can guarantee lack of accountability is sitting there snickering at you.

Today…pick one thing, tell someone you are going to do it and then…do it!  The rush of accomplishment will amaze you (and make you want to do it again!).

do nothing

by Robin Sacks   Do not fear criticism;  embrace it!  Nothing gets accomplished by sitting on your butt and staying quiet.  MAKE things happen by simply doing what needs to be done.  All of those things that you call your friends and tell them about, but do not have that very conversation with the person of whom you are speaking.  Stop wasting your time and energy having those conversations with everyone but the one person who can do something about it.  Go straight to the source.  Do not fear it.  NOT having the conversation will create more headaches than HAVING it.  If something has been on your to-do list for more than a month…do it today or delete it!  Are you avoiding it for a REAL reason?  If you are avoiding it for a reason that YOU made-up, dump it!  As Dr. Seuss once said, “be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”  BE WHO YOU ARE today and get things moving!

Today…Stop Worrying

Filed under: Making Decisions,Stress Management,Take Control — Robin Sacks...Confidence Coach, Motivational Speaker, Author @ 10:55 am

Ask yourself one question…do most of the things you spend a lot of time and energy worrying about ever actually happen?  The answer will always be NO.  If you are one who makes things up and “story-tells” to yourself all the time, it’s time to replace that habit. Why?  Because that old habit of creating things to worry about will never help you;  it will only create stress and anxiety that do not actually exist (outside of you creating it falsely).  So…the tool?  Very simple.  The first step is always to “catch yourself” doing the old habit.  There is no judgement here…just be aware that, “oh, I am doing it.”  When you find this awareness, STOP and ask yourself one question…”am I making this up or is it real?”  Nine times out of ten, you have made it up.  You may try to rationalize it by saying something such as, “I like to be prepared, “or “I like to look at all the possible things that COULD happen.”  The problem with this is, simply put, you are not doing that anyway.  How do I know?  Because you are only looking at the bad possibilities…not the positive ones.  Do not convince yourself that you are “covering all the bases,” so to speak.  See…there you go “storytelling” again. 😉  SO…catch yourself in the act, adjust in the moment, and make sure you are not making a mountain out of a molehill.

Today…Pay Attention to Who You Really Are

Filed under: Look in the Mirror — Robin Sacks...Confidence Coach, Motivational Speaker, Author @ 12:57 pm

When do others seek you out?  What are the things that other people come to you for?  Are you the friend that gets called because you listen, or can “see the other side,” or can help find clarity and simplify a confusing situation?  Are you the person that gets a call because of your strength and ability to calm a situation?  Are you the one who gets a call because you can stand up to someone and take a tough stand when a situation needs to be “dealt with?”

Do not EVER take those things for granted.  They are WHO you are!  Often, we don’t think that is “big deal” stuff.  Why?  Because it comes so easy to us…it is, after all, just what we do.  Well…”just what we do” is something that most people probably do not “just do” (that is why they come to you for those things).

Others already know those are your strengths.  It is time for you to begin recognizing that (we are always the last ones to jump on the bandwagon!).

Today…3 Steps to Being Aware of Your Number 1 Self-Destuctive Action (and reversing it!)

Your subconscious mind believes everything you tell it, true or false.  If anyone ever talked to us the way we talk to ourselves…there would probably be a fight!  Chances are, you are not very forgiving of yourself; you are probably harder on yourself than on anyone else in your life.  Today, drop the front!  If something does not go just right, catch yourself talking negatively in your head and follow these 3 steps:

1. Simply acknowledge it (“well, that’s not what I wanted to do.”)

2. STOP and ask yourself what you want/need to do instead (it takes SO much less time and energy to do this than it does to OVER-REACT to something that you can change in that very moment)

3.  DO IT

This simple 3 step process can be used anywhere, at any time.  If you do it just a couple of times…you will never turn back.

You’re welcome 😉

Now go have a productive, meaningful, and enjoyable day.
