Focus on “exceeding” instead of “succeeding.”

What is the difference, you ask? “Success” implies that you either won or lost. If you did not “succeed” what did you do? Most people would say, “I failed.” Bad philosophy if you ask me! There is no in between. “Exceeding” simply implies that you have moved forward. You are one step closer to something than you were before. THAT alone is a significant motivator!
