“Get Off My Bus” Tip #13

Filed under: Making Decisions,Stress Management,Take Control — Robin Sacks...Speaker, Author, Performance Coach @ 9:47 am

We are almost to the half-way point. You are doing great!

Choose one moment to consciously be “in the now.”

“They say” (I am still not sure who “they” are, but I would love to meet “them” one day. I have a lot of questions for “them!”) that time-travel is not possible. I would argue that, in our heads, we spend the vast majority of our lives time-traveling. Have you ever driven somewhere that you have driven a hundred times before only to arrive there and honestly not remember driving there? Pretty scary when you think about it, huh? It is not that you did not actually drive there, because you did. You accomplished the physical act of going from point A to point B. However, mentally, you were not in the now. You were time-traveling. You were focusing on something that happened the other day that is still on your mind or your vacation next week or the meeting this afternoon.

There is only one time when you ever have control…NOW. You cannot change the past, nor can you predict the future. However, most of our “head” time is spent in one of those places. When you participate in the present moment, you regain a sense of control of your life and allow extraordinary things to happen.

Until tomorrow…
